In the case of a hackathon, sometimes the competition could get as heated as in traditional sports. A hackathon is an event where individuals or teams of programmers, developers, designers, and other tech enthusiasts come together to work collaboratively on a software or hardware project for a fixed period of time, typically ranging from a few hours to a few days. The goal of a hackathon is to encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through uniting people with diverse backgrounds and skill sets together for the construction of advanced initiative and pragmatic solution. Therefore, participants often work on projects that address real-world problems, such as developing new software applications, building innovative hardware prototypes, or creating data visualisations, all with the aim of producing an impactful technological solution.

Passionate People and JSWORLD Conference have always been about the community. 5 years ago, we realised from within our group of frontend developers who have a constant drive for methodological and professional knowledge alongside healthy coding competition. As a result, we came up with internal Coding Challenge for our developers to hone their skills alongside knowledge-sharing events. But we want some thing more. If our small group of developers already had such a desire, then we imagined what the bigger front-end community would want. The answer is the creation of one inclusive event for experience exchange as well as framework updates. Fast forward to just a few weeks ago, that vision resulted in the fifth edition of JSWORLD Conference with over 2000 attendees turning up to see expert developers, framework core team and creators. But we know something is missing. With the same determination and vision, Dev World was born out of the desire to create an inclusive event for the entire development community. With a growing audience of DevWorld, we recognise the significance of providing the opportunity for learning and practicing.
